What is the best adhesive for fixing a window frame?

When opening my window this morning I noticed that the wood frame on the bottom is separating in one corner. New windows are not an option at this point. I read on another site that silicone glue is the best to use on the frame and wondered if anyone had any other suggestions. Thank you.
