I just got a kitten that is siamese and is 6-8 wks old. He is gray and I am wondering about points?

He has blue eyes but doesnt really have the points of color that siamese cats have. I am wondering if the points show up as the kitten get older. I have heard that the cats are darker in colder places and I am in Illinois so it is chilly here.
