Would it be a reasonable project to convert a 16 foot bayliner to electric power?

I have a 1985 16 ft bayliner with an 85 hp 2 stroke. I love to be able to swap out the power head with an electric motor. I know it isn't as simple as that, but is it do-able? At a reasonable cost/effort? I'm guessing that the weight of the batteries to provide enough power to make it get up on a plane would soak up too much power. Most of the info provided from a quick search talks about displacement hulls, not planing hulls.
