Legal protection with stolen laptop?

About 2 months ago my laptop was stolen out of my house, I didn't worry about. anything on it because I figured its gone forever, and I dnt have any info on there given the fact that I'm a teenager so no online banking or anything. But I just got a call they found it, but they need to have me do a verbal authorization or get a search warrant so they can open it up and try to bust the guy for anything he might have done on it. I do have some copied movies on there and some torrent software so do I have any legal protection against that, can I get introuble for Any of that stuff when they look through it? Thanks
