Should LOVE be enough to be together forever?

I met my bf one year ago...I was a single mother of 3 girls...now everything it's been nice and my kids love him...but I'm very unhappy with our intimate life... it's good but only happens once in a while..1-3 times a week...and he is not very afectionate with me...he sais he loves me ...but I don't understand why he doest wana have more often and spontanious..like during the day a little surprise ..or just cudle and have all over the house....I'm very confused and disapointed...but I love him a lot and my kids too...what's the solution here....? thanks
