I have well water...?

I bought my house 3 years ago and have well water. It was treated for smelly water when I moved in, but I don't know what it was... I live in NC where there was a BIG drought in the summer. by fall, I was thinking my well was almost dry because the water started to smell funny. Everyone said I was getting down to the sediment. but it has rained a lot in the last couple months and water isn't a problem anymore, but my well water still stinks. It also leave a white film on everything in the shower and white spots on my dishes if I hand wash them. (I think jet-dry in the dishwasher helps) Does anyone know what this could be? At first the smell was like going outside after it rains. It just smelled earthy. now it downright stinks.
